WoW Vicious Saddle Guide: How to Get One in Midnight Season 2
Learn how to earn a Vicious Saddle in WoW Midnight Season 2: the 1000 rating rule, the Season Rewards bar, and where to trade saddles for mounts.
A Vicious Saddle is a PvP reward that you trade for a Vicious mount. In Midnight Season 2, you earn it by winning rated PvP matches while your rating is 1000 or higher.
The short version: reach 1000 rating in a rated bracket and keep winning to fill the Season Rewards bar. The first full bar gets you the Vicious Lightbloom Boar. Every full bar after that gives one Vicious Saddle, which you can trade for a Vicious mount from an earlier season.
Last checked: November 3, 2026. This guide covers PvP Season 2, which started the week of August 18, 2026. The rating rule and the Season 2 mount come from Blizzard's Season 2 announcement. Blizzard does not publish how much each win adds to the bar, so this guide gives no fixed number of wins.
From first win to saddle
| Step | What you need | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Reach Combatant I | 1000 rating in a rated bracket | The PvP Season 2 cloak and the Combatant title |
| Fill the bar once | Rated wins at 1000 rating or higher | The Venomous Combatant achievement and the Vicious Lightbloom Boar |
| Fill the bar again | More rated wins at 1000 rating or higher | One Vicious Saddle for each full bar |
| Visit the vendor | A Vicious Saddle on the character that earned it | One Vicious mount from an earlier season |
1Reach 1000 rating
1000 rating is Combatant I, the first PvP rank of the season. Reaching it also earns the Season 2 cloak and the Combatant title.
Wins count toward the bar only while your rating is 1000 or higher. If a losing streak drops you below 1000, your wins stop counting until you climb back. A bracket you have not played this season starts below 1000, so your first wins raise your rating before they fill the bar.
Pick the bracket where you can stay above 1000:
- Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz put you in the queue on your own, so you do not need a team.
- 2v2 and 3v3 arena need a partner or a team.
- Rated battlegrounds need a full premade group.
Before your first rated game, replace weak items with PvP gear from the Honor vendor. Gear that is far behind your opponents makes 1000 harder to hold.
2Fill the Season Rewards bar
Open the PvP window and go to the Rated tab. The Season Rewards bar there shows your progress toward the next Vicious reward.
The first full bar completes the Venomous Combatant achievement. Blizzard lists its reward as a Vicious Saddle to exchange for the Vicious Lightbloom Boar, a mount with Alliance and Horde versions in faction-colored armor.
Blizzard does not publish how much each win is worth. Older guides list fixed points for each bracket, but they describe an earlier version of the system with a different rating requirement. Your own games give a better estimate: note the bar before a session, play several wins in one bracket, and check how far it moved.
Some guides also report that the bar's progress is shared across your account. Blizzard's announcement does not say this. Read the achievement tooltip in your game before you count on wins from another character.
3Keep winning for more saddles
After the boar, the bar starts again. Each time you fill it within the same season, you receive one Vicious Saddle. According to the Warcraft Wiki, you can earn several saddles in one season this way.
The saddle binds when picked up. Spend it on the character that earned it, because you cannot mail it to another character.
4Trade the saddle for a mount
Saddles go to a PvP mount vendor in your faction's capital:
- Alliance: Necrolord Sipe, Old Town, Stormwind City.
- Horde: Deathguard Netharian, Valley of Strength, Orgrimmar.
Each saddle buys one Vicious mount from an earlier PvP season. The Warcraft Wiki lists the mounts by season. Check the vendor in your game before you save saddles for one specific mount.
A plan for the rest of the season
- Fill weak gear slots with Honor gear.
- Choose one bracket where you win consistently.
- Reach 1000 rating and collect the Combatant cloak and title.
- Check the Season Rewards bar after each session to learn your pace.
- Claim the Vicious Lightbloom Boar with the first full bar.
- Keep playing above 1000 for more saddles and spend each one on the character that earned it.
Frequently asked questions
What rating do you need for a Vicious Saddle?
1000 rating, which is the Combatant I rank. Your wins count toward the bar only while you stay at or above it.
Which bracket fills the bar fastest?
Blizzard does not publish per-win values for each bracket. Choose the bracket where you win most often above 1000, then compare how far the bar moves after a session.
Do I need a team?
No. Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz let you queue alone. Arena and rated battlegrounds need a group.
Can I send a Vicious Saddle to another character?
No. The saddle binds when picked up, so only the character that earned it can trade it for a mount.
Can I buy a Vicious Saddle?
HideBoost offers a Vicious Saddle boost for EU and US. When you order, you choose how much of the bar you have already filled, and you can add extra saddles. Buying in-game services for real money breaks Blizzard's rules, so read the risks at the end of this guide first.
When you would rather skip the grind
If you enjoy rated PvP, the plan above is all you need. If you have less time, the Vicious Saddle boost starts from your current bar progress. For the gear and rating that make 1000 easier to hold, see HideBoost's PvP services, including the Conquest set boost.
Blizzard prohibits buying or selling in-game services for real money, and involved accounts may be penalized. Account sharing also violates Blizzard's rules. Consider those risks and review Blizzard's policy information before purchasing a third-party service.
